Understanding and accepting that this is a long process is sometimes challenging. I constantly see people post about how much weight they’ve lost (14 lbs, 20lbs since the beginning of the year) and I’ve lost less. I’m down about 7 lbs since the beginning of the year. I’m down 27 since the beginning of last year. There is a visible difference in the way I look in pictures from 2010 than how I look now.
I try very hard not to get caught up in the scale. My jeans fit (the pair I wrote about in December), my muscles are strong and defined (under the padding), I’m leaner, I can run, I can make it through workouts. But. It seems like there should be more results. More spectacular results. Overall, I eat over my weightloss calorie goal maybe once a week – if at all.
I continue to try and focus on health. Eat healthy. Exercise. Rest. And just let things unfold. Do the right things and progress will happen. Sometimes discouraging when you see others with big numbers.
Though, I suppose part of my challenge has been the couple weeks where I lost workout days to being sick or that other thing that happened in January.
Stupid numbers. I’m having a bit of a down day. I’m still in my pajamas at 2:43pm in the afternoon. I’m ready for summer. (When did I start liking summer better than winter?) I’m not giving up you know. It’s just taking more work to get my brain on track today.
